Trick or Treat!

Or as Bailey says, "Eeh! Eeh! Eeh!"
Or Collin, "Wic Oh Eeh!"

Despite heading out later than usual,
Bags and Buckets were filled to the top.
Despite having to stop early,
And as always Mommy hated to stop!

Boys had a blast,
Bailey loved it too.
Mommy and Daddy had fun,
And got along too!

"Trick or Treat"
"Thank you & Happy Halloween"
Is what the big kids said ,
with each house we had seen.

Chocolates, Taffies,
Lollipops and gum.
If you don't want Mommy to get them,
Grab the Reese's & run.

More manners seen,
than any Christmas season.
Something about free candy,
gives everyone reason.

Treats are all sorted,
Kids are in their beds.
Visions of candy
are dancing in their heads.

Now it's Mommy's turn,
And Daddy's turn too.
To go through the candy,
And pick a piece or a few.

  Happy Halloween!

Random Tuesday Thoughts

randomtuesday

So last night, I got that bi-weekly urge I get to go take a crap. As I sat on the toilet I started pondering about my crap-habits. Then I thought it would be an awesome random thought for Random Tuesday Thoughts.

So here they are, my random thoughts.

If you have ever been pregnant, have given birth, or been on narcotic pain meds you know, constipation is a pain in the ass. Pun intended.

And if you have ever been addicted to heroin or been on methadone, you really understand.

So when I get that urge to go, I really need to go. And boy oh boy does that initial pain turn to pure satisfaction.

At least until I am done and flush. Then it turns to annoyance. All because every. single. time. I take a crap, I have to plunge the damn toilet.

How is that for a blog post being way TMI? Oh well. These are my random thoughts and this is my blog.

I decided today while Bailey was napping to break out the play doh' for some quiet while I took a shower.
What hell that turned into!

Before the water was even turned on, there was play doh' and almost every accessory on the floor.

This is the reasoning behind the "play doh' is only allowed in the kitchen" rule I enforce.

This is also the reasoning behind this mommy not willing to break out the good stuff more often.

Anyway the shower, I finally get in, an hour after I 1st intended on doing so, and the kids reek havoc.

As soon as I get my hair all sudsy, the banging starts. These boys know not to bang because of our almighty
downstairs neighbors. Especially not while Bailey is napping.

I jump out of the shower, shampoo in my eyes, water everywhere, to see one child in the hallway and a flash
of another in the boys' bedroom. The are swinging the door at each other.

Collin slams door. Thomas opens it as hard as he can. Rinse and Repeat. Repeat. Repeat.

I feel horrible now, but I was pissed. I screamed at them and cried my eyes out. I just wanted a quick shower!

They watch T.V. and I finish washing. By now the boys were so quiet I was also able to scrub the tub!

I wasn't feeling good so I decided to just throw nuggets and fries into the oven for lunch.

Thomas and Collin each received 5 nuggets, Bailey 4, and their cow of a mommy had 8 on her plate.

Much to my surprise, Thomas came asking for more. I had 2 left on my plate.

Who do you think ate them?

Of course he did!

And to add to subtract from my diminishing plate, Collin wanted more fries.

Guess who got more fries?

Luckily for me, Bailey didn't finish all of hers.

Guess who got to eat cold, finely chopped nuggets?

Oh yes, I so did.

Currently, I am finishing this, the boys are watching Olivia, and Bailey is in the boys room playing with their tools.

Luckily for me, I have a great line of sight into their bedroom from my desk.

I guess Tom was wrong about this being an awful spot to put a desk.

So how is that for some random thoughts?

Babywearing-Carriers

I have posted my opinions on different baby carriers on JM a lot lately and thought I'd share here.

I have 3 carriers. A Moby wrap, The Peanut Shell, and the Snugli by Evenflo

Here are my "reviews" on each:

Moby-PERFECT for the newborn stage. Was able to do anything around the house and out without worrying much. I always checked her breathing, probably too much, but thats it. She was able to nurse in it perfectly. Best part was being able to put the fabric over her head to hold her completely still against my body.

Great now for long carrying. No back/shoulder pain. It does get hot though. I can wear it in no humidity up to 80* out, but if it is humid or hotter or both, heck no. Walking for the fireworks the other day was brutal-Bailey was fine, a bit warm-but I was sweating like a pig.
Don't like it for quick carrying or spur of the moment carrying as it does take a minute to get on. I mainly use it for outings with the family, when I know we will be doing a lot of standing/walking

The Peanut Shell-got it from a friend but she got it at TJ Maxx for $12. Was able to nurse in it while grocery shopping and no one had a clue. Didn't like the way Bailey looked in the cradle hold. Love it because it fits into really tiny places-keep it in the diaper bag-and I can just through it on with no adjusting, wrapping, buckling. Bailey (and Collin) usually use the hip hold in it. I can wear it for over an hour with out any discomfort. Bailey loves it as it feels more like she is being held. PERFECT for quick runs into the grocery store, bringing a toddler/preschooler into school/day care

Snugli-I have had this since Thomas. I love I can keep it in the car. I also love that Tom will wear this. My shoulders tend to hurt after about 30-45 minutes.

Babywearing

I have always loved the idea of baby wearing, from the time I had Thomas, but just couldn't get into it. I think I wore him a handful of times in his snugli front carrier

With Collin, I wore him every time we went grocery shopping until he could sit up in the cart himself, and when going for family walks. So until he was 11 months old. Again in the snugli front carrier.

Now this time, it is much harder. Three kids are impossible in the grocery store, especially since Collin needs the seat in the cart. So I am wearing Bailey. I started with the snugli but she doesn't hold her head well enough for it. We went to the sling. I hate it. It looks sooo uncomfortable. I was then given a Moby Wrap from a good friend on Justmommies. I love it so much! Not only can I get things done while wearing her, but I can nurse her at the same time! Who knew how convenient it would be to feed hands free? I can get laundry folded unload/load the dishwasher, do anything! (Accept bend down and get up with ease, but I hear it gets better.)

I love wearing my baby girl and keeping her close <3
